Just going through some of my kids photos and this one stuck out as fall is quickly approaching….
I don’t even want to say it, but Christmas is around the corner and we should all be thinking about our family pictures

What a beautiful family 
When mom called to book a location session, I was really excited to get the chance to photograph this family before they left for their son’s high school graduation. Such a memorable moment and huge transition in life! Hope you all had fun!

This little guy was too cute in the studio for his birthday photographs! Even though he would have rathered stood on his head, or hide behind cushions…we still managed to get some pretty cute portraits of this three year old! Is he not the cutest?!:)

This morning I took my son out for a walk that turned out to be an adventure…..
It was supposed to happen earlier in the morning, but it never….so we had to work with the sun high in the sky.
As we walked Mason would stop along the way to crush any ice with his Diego scooter. At this time of year there is A LOT of ice….let’s just say it took a while to get anywhere.
Of course, Mason was sooooo excited to ride his scooter again. Along the way he stopped to show me all the “cool” things his scooter has….like a wheel, a bag to hold rocks….
After I got the grand tour, we just stood back to admire the scooter in the beautiful sunshine
Finally we moved on, this time it was down a slope HUGE hill Last year he wasn’t too sure of the hills but after this morning…I think he’ll have no problem with them
I knew that sooner than later we’d have to try a new move. Phew, all this work…when the fun ends the best way to get home is simply to walk.
While walking, Mason noticed he had lost his shawdow. Where did it go? Why is it not following him anymore? Did the black take it back?
We walked some more till we came out from the “blackness” of the large house blocking the sun…and his dear shadow was back. **Grin**
Wow! Ice melting!
We had to help the water move….direct it with our fingers!
An hour later we made it home. I am so lucky to have my little sunshine

Oh my…all of my kids are sick and I am starting to feel as bad as they do 
As soon as one of my babies start to feel better the other child comes down with something! UGGGG, I swear every year I have a permanent seat at my doctor’s office.
The other day on our adventure I posted the girls together. Here are a few of each girl by themselves. I really liked this location for the diversity and tons of colour….even at this time of year! For those that are starting to think of spring sessions….give me a call as I only take a certain number of studio and location sessions per month.

I have a new friend. Her name is Gertie. She is a warm and welcoming women with abundant stories that will keep you asking for more. Her kindness is from a generation that wrote instead of texted, that read stories instead of watched t.v., that invites a stranger for tea and takes time for a moment. Thank you Gertie we all are very lucky to have met you.
Today I spent some time getting pictures of my two girls. They are both so sweet, and so very different It is important for me to capture the bond that is shared between them…hopefully they will appreciate the documentation. This was the first time that we’ve made it through a shoot without frustration, possibly it was the cool location that the girls just didn’t want to leave.

Wow, our house is still on a high over yesterday’s incredible game!!! Having the Olympics in Canada has been such a wonderful experience once again. Yesterday I was telling my oldest how I was her age when the winter Olympics were in Calgary in ‘88….yikes….that was a while ago! Seriously, how much fun did everyone have watching all the sports and the unbelievable opening…and closing (loved the Flying Moose!) ceremonies. *Sigh* It’s a bit of a downer now…all that hype over the last 17 days….what to do now that we have to go back to regular t.v..
I have some more incredible images from this little 7 year old beauty. We started in the studio and accessorized her wardrobe. Initially we were going to stick to studio photography, but plans changed and we finished outdoors with a few location pictures. When planning for a studio session, think texture and colour. Mix and match your outfits….even if you think they wouldn’t work for “everyday” wear…quite possibly it will work in your images! Sometimes the littlest of accessories like a headband or hat can really impact an image and add tons of interest to an otherwise ordinary outfit!

First of all…way to go CANADA!!!!!!
This was such a fab session! I had so much fun hanging with this seven year old, choosing outfits and dancing in the studio I have put together a few pictures that would represent a mini session…now that mini sessions are going to take place in the near future
Again, I am so fortunate to work with such cute kids….really, there must be a cute gene in the H2O here in Calgary and I am one of the lucky photogs to work with these super kids We really just hung out, put together outfits that worked with this little girl’s personality and then captured some memorable moments that both mom and dad will enjoy. Capturing your child “now” is what Simply Connected is about. I truly loved this children’s session as it was so relaxed and fun, enjoy
