August 31, 2010Calgary family photographer – location fun with 10!
July 5, 2010

This location session was a total blast! From the moment I met up with this group….we did nothing but laugh! Seriously…fun! Our time together was spent taking a stroll in the park and getting the more “formal” group shots…but a majority of the time was relaxed and showing how close this family is and the interactions between everyone. For this sneak peek I decided to show some candid shots that displays the love between everyone. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of 10 to work with! Honestly, they were so full of life that I left this session smiling and have been giggling out loud while editing
Thanks so much!

Calgary family photographer – sisters
March 8, 2010I have a new friend. Her name is Gertie. She is a warm and welcoming women with abundant stories that will keep you asking for more. Her kindness is from a generation that wrote instead of texted, that read stories instead of watched t.v., that invites a stranger for tea and takes time for a moment. Thank you Gertie we all are very lucky to have met you.
Today I spent some time getting pictures of my two girls. They are both so sweet, and so very different
It is important for me to capture the bond that is shared between them…hopefully they will appreciate the documentation. This was the first time that we’ve made it through a shoot without frustration, possibly it was the cool location that the girls just didn’t want to leave.
Enjoy

[Calgary child and family photographer] family time…
January 13, 2010

As many of you all know, we went on an extended family holiday in December. It started in San Diego visiting family and exploring the pub beach for an afternoon
The kids had a blast collecting shells and other sea life…while mom and dad enjoyed the warmth of the sun!
A car rental (an upgrade to an large SUV…that made a certain brother-in-law jealous
) took us to Anaheim for a few extra days! Disneyland is such a fabulous place, mom and dad were both beaming from ear to ear…of course the kids were excited too! It was funny this trip, I knew ahead that I really wanted to be “there” with my family…no scouting out light, locations and trying to get the kids to smile. My goal was to enjoy my time, put the camera down (at least the nice HEAVY one) and really be present.
Finally…. the above images are from Loreto, Mexico. My in-laws winter in Loreto and graciously invited the entire family to join them for Christmas. We spent two glorious weeks in a beautiful home metres from the beach. Loreto is not a large tourist town, but is a friendly and very welcoming village full of happy locals. Our days were spent on the beach swimming, sea shell hunting and digging for clams. The mountains were great for hiking….and abundant with wildlife (a close encounter with a tarantula will be remembered!).
Our last eventful day was spent on a beach a 1/2 hour boat ride from Loreto to Coranato Island. On the boat we saw porpoises, sea lions and great cliffs formed from volcanic rock. The sand on the beach was white and the sea was calm which made snorkelling unbelievable! What more could you ask for in a vacation:)
I look forward to another great year photographing Calgary’s fabulous families! As always… there are new items for the studio and awesome promos for the year. Stay tuned!
Happy New Year to you all!

Whoa nellie….I have a bunch of fab shots from a recent studio photo session that I just have to share!!!
First off, I had the pleasure of meeting this fantastic artist/business owner of Bouncing Off The Walls !!! Check out the many custom decor items for your kids rooms…so many great pieces that you’ll fall in love with it all!
Ready to see some cuteness?
I truly enjoyed working with mom, dad, and both kids…..they were so cute! If any of you were wondering about the title, the song associated with it is what makes these kids groove. Really, my Barney didn’t cut it! I loved it!!
Have a wonderful holiday season everyone! I will be away over December and will return all e-mail/phone messages in early January!
Enjoy

[Calgary family and child photographer] all smiles…
December 1, 2009Such a pleasure working with this family again! I have been so fortunate to start photographing in studio this handsome young fellow since he was 2 months old! Mom has had a blast dressing this little dude, he always has the cutest hats!!!! Of course, I have a weakness for hats so you can imagine how excited I was to see what was in the “bag”!
Happy holidays everyone!
Simply Connected Photography is officially booked for the 2009 year! Holidays start December 16 and all e-mails will be returned in the new year! Thank you all for your continued support. Wishing you all the best over the season and in 2010. (That was weird typing 2010…my fingers and my brain can not believe we are officially double digits again!)
All the best!
